MilkyWay takes its name from a famous milky, malted drink that was very popular in the 1920s... not exactly what you might imagine, namely the galaxy that our beloved Earth is part of.
The MilkyWay bar was created in 1923 by Frank C. Mars and originally produced in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The name and flavor were taken from a popular milk drink (malted, milkshake ), which in turn was named after Earth's galaxy.
