The founder of this giant was Enric Bernat in the early 1950s. While working for an apple jam factory called "Granja Asturias", he had the idea of ​​creating lollipops from his sticky hands by melting sweets. After he had broached the idea of ​​creating lollipops, the investors left and Bernat took over the company in 1958 and renamed it Chupa Chups, thinking that sweets were not designed for children at the time. In fact, shopkeepers were asked to place Chupa Chups near the cash register, and therefore within reach of children, instead of the usual positioning behind the counter. And it was a huge success!
