Fruit Joy were launched on the Italian market in 1986 by the English confectionery company Rowntree Mackintosh, but in reality these curious sweets were produced in the United Kingdom already in 1881 under the name of Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles. Later, however, precisely in 1988, this brand passed into the hands of Nestlè who added many other variations and flavors to the classic flavors of strawberry, lime and orange.
