Whatchamacallit bars were first introduced in 1978. The name was coined by Sallie Grayson , writer of STUFFED: "Adventures of a Restaurant Family." She was Associate Creative Director at Doyle Dane & Bernbach, and was responsible for new brands at Hershey's.
